Olla,

pherhaps the answer is to late but i think the cylinder doesn´t dupolicate itself because all you scale (curve, cylinder) you have to do in edit-mode,not in object mode..

Hi Aroga, sorry for replying so late. I'm not really sure why that is happening, so all I can suggest is that you could post a .blend for people to look at. Unfortunately, Blender is built so that there could be a multitude of other factors affecting why this isn't working correctly.

Hope you find a solution soon!

Nice tutorial but for me the cylinder won't duplicate itself till the end of my curve, just for about 20% of it. If I scale the curve bigger i don't get more cylinders but if I extrude the cylinder, it gets a bit longer.

Here are a couple of pictures of what I mean:

hi -
i liked your tutorial on creting vines and i'm a huge fan of Meats so i hope you don't mind i complied a video of it. and of course gave all due credit and urls.

I don't see your email here to email it to you - or a contact page? (Thought it was a contact form on your about page - it wasn't.)

Though i compiled it for my own use really, of course, you're welcome to a copy of it as with anyone else.

You can see it on my Blender tutorial page at

i'll try to post a link to a file share site for both the wmv (16megs) and the AVI (45megs) for download.

Hope you like it and again thanks for the tutorial.
Meats would be proud i'm sure!

kkrawal: It would certainly be possible to create parts of a basket using this technique. For the reeds sprouting from the center, you could use an array modifier to save time.

I have a feeling there would be some hands-on work involved to get an entire model, though.

Check and make sure the modifier is set to display in edit mode (the 3 smallest buttons in the upper-right of the array panel).

If that doesn't work, you might post a screenshot of the panel for us to check.

Thanks for reading!

Everytime I try and add the array modifier, the cylinder won't duplicate. The specifications are the same as in the tut. Any ideas?
